Newport has been host to summer jazz festivals for nearly 50 years. Each year for one summer weekend in August, thousands of jazz lovers arrive in Newport to hear legendary and new names in jazz music. Most of the performances are held at the Fort Adams State Park with acts playing on Saturday and Sunday. Performances are also held at the Newport Casino at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and sometimes at the Jane Pickens Theater. Vendor and food pavilions give visitors plenty of listening, eating and shopping options. Call or visit the Web site for the schedule. Tickets range from USD15-100.
