Learn about the "kings of the wild frontier" in these archives. After visiting the San Jacinto Battleground where an independent Texas was born, step inside to discover the details of the famous battle. The tribute to all of those who lived, fought and died for independence, traces the regional past from the Indians who witnessed the landing of Cortez to the westward movement of the 1800s. A 35-minute film, "Texas Forever, the Battle of San Jacinto," can be viewed to further enhance your understanding of this famous, hallowed ground. When you're done browsing the exhibits, don't forget to take the elevator to the observation deck for an unbelievable view of the grounds.
