Ride the elevator to the terrace of the Hotel Splendido in Portofino and you will be rewarded with glorious ocean views, a great ambience and a lavish spread. A courteous staff, attuned to the needs of diners, is in keeping with the hotel’s high standards. Dishes worth a sampling are: Mussels sautéed in tomato sauce and black olive dumplings for starters, followed by deep-fried scampi with baby squid, or the broiled lobster for mains.
